During the meeting of the Committee it was suggested that the bill (Reg. No. 2393) should amend Chapter XI “Transitional provisions” of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine (CPC) with a new clause 11-1. According to this clause, courts have the right to consolidate into one proceeding those criminal cases that refer to the same crime committed by a group of people and that were received by the court in accordance with the norms of the CPC of 1961 and CPC of 2012. Such cases should be examined in the order established by the new CPC of 2012.
